slow cooker corned beef and cabbage

3 pounds of corned beef (about 2 briskets)10 red potatoes, washed and quartered6 carrots, peeled and cut into large chunks2 cups (about 1 large) yellow onion, chopped2 12-oz beers (I use 1 of stout and 1 of medium ale)3 tablespoons horseradish2 medium-size heads of cabbage
1. Place chopped veggies (everything except cabbage) in bottom of crock pot, with beef briskets and their seasoning packets on top. Add horseradish.
2. Pour both bottles of beer over the briskets and cook on HIGH for 8 - 9 hours (longer time for thicker briskets).
3. About 1 hour before the end of the cooking time, remove the veggies to a bowl and keep warm. Add cabbage to the briskets and liquid and continue cooking for the remaining time until the cabbage is fully cooked.
