Ingredients
225 g self raising flourpinch salt50g margarine25g caster sugar50 g currants /sultanasi med egg with sufficent milk to make 150 ml of liquid
Directions
heat oven to 220c gas mark 7
lightly grease baking tray
mix flour salt rub in marg stir in sugar and fruit
knead lightly on floured surface
roll out to 1 cm and cut into 6.6 cm rounds
brush the tops with egg and milk mixture and bake for ten mins until brown
a scone dough shold be soft and spongy handle lightly for best results
