Ingredients
2 1/4 lb organic sugar1 bushel apples (I like to mix 1/2 of each of my favorites) washed and cored then pureed using the 1 quart of water.1 qt. water1 qt. cider vinegar1/2 cup cinnamon1/4 ground clove1/4 nutmeg Large electric roaster (350 degrees) spayed with non stick sprayIt makes63 pints -1 pint (291 calories) =32 tablespoonserving @ 4 tablespoon (36.47 calories) or 8 tablespoon servings 73 calories each. The calculator does not take anything over 255 servings and this recipe is actually 504 - 4 ounce servings which gives you the caloric value of 36.47This recipe was calculated for the 8 tablespoon serving total of 252 servings.
Directions
In blender puree washed cored apples with small amounts of water till smooth and continue till all is pureed . Put pureed apples in large sprayed electric roasting pan (Hold a Turkey) on 325 add all other ingredients and stir frequently to prevent burning. Do NOT USE A LID! The apple mixture will start to evaporate making the apple butter thicker and sweeter. Taste and add more sugar or seasoning accordingly.It usually takes about 3-4 hours to cook and it is worth it. Can as you normally would. Makes 63 pint jars(291 calories or 2c)=32 tablespoons. 1 - 4 tablespoons serving would be 36.47 and 1- 8 tablspoon serving would be 73 calories..
