Grandma's Snickerdoodles

Ingredients
2 sticks unsalted butter1 1/2 c. sugar2 eggs2 3/4 c. sifted flour2 tsp. cream of tartar1 tsp. baking soda1/4 tsp. salt2 T. sugar2 tsp. cinnamon
Directions
Mix butter, sugar and eggs. Sift together and stir in flour, cream of tartar, soda, and salt.

Chill mixture. Roll into balls the size of small walnuts. Roll in mixture of 2 T. sugar and 2 tsp. cinnamon. Place 2" apart on ungreased baking sheet. Bake until lightly brown but still soft. (These cookies puff up at first, then flatten out.) Bake 10 minutes at 400 degrees. Makes about 4 doz. 2" cookies.
