Whole Wheat Calzones

Ingredients
Whole Wheat Pizza Crust1 lb. turkey Italian sausage2/3 lb. extra lean ham1 small onion, chopped1/2 green pepper, chopped1 small can mushrooms, chopped8 oz. shredded part-skim mozzarella cheese1 C pizza sauce
Directions
Divide crust into 8 equal sized balls. Dust counter and rolling pin lightly with flour. Roll each ball into a thin rectangle and place on baking sheet with 1/3 of dough hanging over edge. Spread 3 T pizza sauce on each rectangle. Top with 1/8 of the sausage, ham, veggies and cheese. Fold dough over the top creasing edges with a fork. Bake for 10-12 minutes at 400 degrees.

Makes 8 calzones.

Ideas for lightening this up:

Use only your fave veggies and no meat.

Use turkey ham or turkey bacon instead of regular ham.

Use chicken breast.

You can fill them with whatever you want!
