Lebanese-Style Red Lentil Soup

Ingredients
6 Cups Water1 lb Red Lentils1 T Garlic Powder1 Large Onion, chopped1.5 T Cumin.5 t cayenne pepperSalt to taste
Directions
Combine ingredients in a soup pot. Bring to a boil, reduce to simmer, and allow to cook until lentils fall apart and soup becomes creamy - or blend it with a stick blender when lentils are soft. Any combination of red and green lentils can be used. Red lentils will "dissolve" as the soup is cooking where as green lentils will hold form.
