Beef Tzimmes

3 - 4 lbs beef suitable for stewing like a brisket1+ lb bag fried fruit (apricots, prunes, apples, peaches & pears is the usual mix)5 potatoes cut into pieces5-6 carrots cut into 1" pices1 medium white or yellow onionwater plus wine(optional-red or white) to cover***egg noodles, cooked just prior to serving
Place meat in large crock pot or Dutch oven. Add fruit and veggies. Cover with liquid. Bring to simmer and cook until beef is very tender when pierced with a carving fork. Remove meat and place onto platter to cut into serving size portions.
Distribute beef and ingredients on plates or use large bowls. Serve over noodles.
Serves 6 plus leftovers.
