Indian-style rice

1 cup medium grain rice1-3/4 cups water1/2 cup frozen green peas1/8 tsp. turmeric1/8 tsp. garlic powder1 pinch salt1 pinch black pepper1/2 tsp. vegetable oil1 oz. seedless raisins1 Tbsp. fresh cilantro leaves
1) Place rice, water and turmeric in rice cooker.
2) While rice cooker is on, place peas, raisins, garlic powder, salt, black pepper and oil in a microwave container. Heat for 45 seconds.
3) When rice is done, add peas/raisin mixture and cilantro and stir. Serve while warm.
Makes 4 1/2 cup servings.
