1/4 cup butter1/4 cup olive oil1 cup onions, chopped4 cloves garlic2 cups celery chopped1 green bell pepper1 red bell pepperbasilrosemaryflat leaf parsley2 cups mushrooms, choppedsaltpepperred pepper flakes1 3/4 lb ground beef, lean1 poun ground turkey, 99% fat freelarge can stewed tomatoes14 oz can petite cut diced tomatoes2 (6 oz) cans tomato paste3/4 bottle red wine
Chop, or preferably food process, vegetables and saute in butter and olive oil in large skillet.
Brown beef and turkey in large pot. Add sauteed vegetables, tomatoes and tomato paste, and wine. Season with salt, pepper, and red pepper flades. Stir to combine, cover and simmer 3 hours.
Serving size 1 cup. Approx 18 cups.
