Savoy cabbage a'la Hungary

Ingredients

2 tbs butter1/4 cup flour2 cloves of garlic1 tsp of paprika8 cups of shredded savoy cabbage3-4 chicken or vegi bouillon(optional)salt to taste(optional)
Boil cabbage in water just enough to cover it.
Meanwhile make a rough by heating the butter and flour mixture, roasting the flour till light brown. Add finelly chopped garlic and paprika and remove from heat.
When cabbage is tender mix in rough while stirring to avoid lumps. Bring it to a boil to thicken the liquid. Add bouillon or salt to taste.

This is probably the worst recipe I have seen for a fantastic dish. After making it, I threw it away.Where are the potatoes (a key ingredient) and caraway seeds which I found in ALL other recipes. What is a rough? I assume you are referring to a roux (or rue). Don't bother with this recipe. - 11/14/09
