Squash Fritters

Ingredients
2 cups grated summer squash (1 medium)1 medium onion, grated2 tsp sugar1 tsp salt1 egg, beaten6 Tbsp flour2 Tbsp corn mealDash of baking powderDash of pepper
Directions
Combine squash, onion, sugar, salt, flour, corn meal and pepper. Add beaten egg, and stir well. Drop by tablespoons full on hot oiled griddle. Cook fritters on both sides until golden brown. Serve immediately.
