Tex mex sauce (goes with turkey meatball recipe)

Ingredients
1 large onion, chopped2 medium carrots, chopped2 garlic cloves,, minced2 jalapenos, seeded and chopped (or not seeded)4 cups of del monte no salt diced tomatoes2 cups water1 tbsp chili powder2 scallions, thinly sliced, for garnish
Directions
Saute onion, garlic, carrots and jalapenos and cook until tender, 5 to 6 minutes. Transfer mixture to food processor and puree with tomatoes. Return mixture to a large pot and add water and chili powder. Bring up to a bubble and add meatballs. Reduce heat to simmer until meatballs are cooked thru, about 10 minutes. Serve the soup garnished with scallions. Can also use a squeeze of lime, sour cream and/or crushed tortilla chips. Makes about 8 servings at 1 cup each.
