Chocolate Zucchini Cake

Ingredients
1/4 cup butter3/4 cup unsweetened applesauce1/2 cup brown sugar1/2 cup granulated sugar2 eggs 1 tsp. vanilla1/2 tsp. baking powder1 tsp. baking soda1 tsp. ground cinnamon (optional)4 TBSP. unsweetened cocoa powder1/2 cup buttermilk2 cups grated zucchini2 1/2 cups unbleached flour1 cup chocolate chips
Directions
Cream together the first 6 ingredients.
Blend in dry ingredients alternating with the buttermilk until all blended together. Batter is somewhat thick.
Fold in grated zucchini.
Pour into greased 9 x 13 pan.
Sprinkle with chocolate chips.
Bake at 325 for 40 to 50 minutes.

    LOVE THIS CAKE!!! I actually prefer this one over high calorie cakes. I use applesauce in it cause I've always made that change in baking but i also do not put chocolate chips in the recipe or on top. Its yummy without them :) - 1/30/18
