D'Anne's French Silk Pie

1/2 c. butter, softened3/4 c. sugar1 tsp. vanilla2 squares bitter chocolate2 eggsPie crust (regular or oreo)1 c. heavy cream, whipped (lightly sweetened)Shaved chocolate
Cream together butter, sugar, and vanilla. Melt chocolate over hot water (or in microwave). Cool and add to the creamed mixture. Add one egg and beat 5 minutes. Add second egg and beat five minutes. Pour into baked (or oreo) pie crust. Cover with lightly sweetened whipped cream and shaved chocolate.
Freezes well. After frozen, store in plastic bag. May be served frozen or after it has set at room temperature for several minutes.
Double recipe works well in a 10" x 15" dish for large groups.
To make an oreo crust, combine 26 oreos with 1/4 c. melted butter in a food processor, then press into pie pan.
