Tender Spring PEas and asparagus

Ingredients
32 asparagus spears2/3 cup water1/3 cup canned vegetable broth3 shallots minced2 lb fresh peas, shelled or 10 oz frozen peas1/4 tsp ground pepper1/2 red bell pepper seeded, stemmed and diced.
Directions
1) Cut the asparagus into 1-inch-thick pieces.
2) In a large frying pan over medium-high heat, bring the water, broth, and shallots to a oil, stir in the asparagus, peas, and ground pepper. Cover and cook for 5 minutes.
3) Uncover ad the bell pepper and cook until the liquid has mostly evaporated about 2 minutes.
4) Serve and enjoy!

    Excellant and I used peas in the shell added them first- after about 3 min added asparagus and then followed the rest of the recipe- so the peas cooked for 8 min. - 6/27/12
