Lean chili with black and kidney beans

1 pound 90% ground sirloin1 can reduced sodium black beans1 can reduced sodium kidney beansCarroll Shelby's chili kit2 cans diced tomatoes1 cup chopped onions1 cup chopped bell pepperAdd more chili powder, cumin, and red pepper (cayenne)Add +/- 2 cups water
Cook ground beef and rinse in hot or boiling water to remove excess fat. Add raw vegetables and cook with meat and salt until almost done. Add canned beans and tomatoes and the chili kit, but not the masa flour until the last 10 minutes. The chili will stick to the pan if you add this too early.
Let simmer for at least an hour. Serve with fresh chopped tomatoes, onions, jalapenos and cheese. Makes approximately 12 servings (1 cup each).
