The Best Au Gratin Potatoes

4 to 5 Idaho potatoes8 oz of shredded cheddar cheese or cheese blend1.5 cups of heavy cream.5 cup of milk1.5 cups of diced ham
Mix the flour, cream and milk together in a dish. Slice the potatoes thinly adn shred the cheese. Once all the items are ready you can start to layer the casserole. Spray a baking dish with non-stick spray, put a layer of potatoes (about 1/3) on the bottom, sprinke 1/3 of the ham and 1/3 of the cheese over the taters and continue until done. Pour the milk mixture over every layer. Once together, cover with foil and bake for 30 minutes at 350. Once done, take out, uncover and cook for another 20 min. in the oven. Take out and let stand for a while to set and serve as a side dish or a main meal with a salad. My serving sizes above are to eat this as a main dish. Servings will vary if serving as a side dish.
