Ingredients
1 cup channa dhal1 cup jaggery1 tsp. cardamon powder3 tsp. oil1 1/2 cup wheat flour (atta) with saffola cholesterol management added.1/2 tsp. salt
Directions
Soak channa dhal for 2 hours. Then pressure cook it for about 3 whistles. Once cooled down, drain dhal and let sit for 5 minutes so all water is gone. put dhal, jaggery and cardamon in the mixer and mix to a fine paste. Remove and put in a covered bowl. Place in fridge and keep for at least an hour to overnight. Then take flour and salt, mix with water to form a soft dough. Knead very well. Divide dough into 10 portions. Divide filling into 10 portions. flatten dough to a circle, fill with filling and encase it with the dough. Make sure it is well sealed and then roll on flat surface to make a 1/4 " thick circle. You can use extra flour or oil to keep it from sticking. Put a little oil in a non-stick tawa or pan. place poli on pan and cook on both sides til it puffs. Serve hot. Makes 10 servings.
