Lentil Spaghetti sauce

1 cup onions, chopped2 tsp olive oil2 cloves of garlic, minced1 cup dry lentils2.5 cups water or fat free broth1 cup chopped fresh mushrooms1 jar Newman's Own marinara sauce
Cook the onions in the olive oil until tender. Add the garlic and cook for one minute. Add the lentils and broth, bring to a boil, cover and simmer 30minutes. Add mushrooms and marinara sauce and continue to simmer 10 minutes or until the lentils are as soft as you like them. Serve over spaghetti noodles.
