Directions
1/4 cup boiling water1/2 cup butter1/2 cup splenda blend brown sugar1/2 cup dark Molasses3 cups sifted all-purpose flour1 tsp baking soda1 tsp salt1 1/2 tsp ginger1/2 tsp nutmeg1/8 tsp cloves
Pour water over butter (make sure butter is completely melted. Add sugar and molasses. Mix well. In separate bowl, sift dry ingredients together. Add to molasses mixture. Blend. Chill thoughtly.
Roll dough on floured surface 1/8" to 1/4" thick. Cut with cookie cutter. Place on greased cookie sheets. Bake at 375 degrees about 10 minutes. Makes about 4 dozen cookies, depending on the size of the cutter. The batch can be doubles, but I do not recommend cutting it in half. The dough will be to dry. This is a great recipe for the kids to help. Lots of FUN!
