Lentil Soup kids like better than candy

Ingredients
8 cups cold water1 lb. pkg dry lentils1 14.5oz. can tomatoes, diced2 Tbsp. apple cider vinegar1 cup raw carrot slices1/2 tsp. dried oregano (crush in palm to release flavor)3 Tbsp. dried parsley1/8 tsp. garlic powder1 Tbsp. dehydrated onion flakes2 1/2 tsp. salt (I use sea salt)1/4 tsp. black pepper
Directions
This is so EASY! Rinse the lentils and throw them in a big pot with everything else. Bring it all to a boil and then put the lid on and lower it to as low as possible. Set the timer for 45 minutes. Now-FORGET ABOUT IT! (Just check the burner for safety every now and then. I use gas heat.) After letting it simmer for 45 minutes, take the lid off and smell. You will be amazed! You'll feel like you're cheating . Enjoy!
