2 jars (3 cups each) Ragu Original Spaghetti Sauce1 - 28 ounce can whole tomatoes, crushed1/4 cup tomato paste8 ounces good red wine1 tablespoon extra virgin olive oil2 tablespoons dried basil1 teaspoon dried oregano1/4 teaspoon crushed red pepper1/2 onion, finely chopped1/2 bell pepper, finely chopped6 cloves garlic, finely chopped
Finely chop onion, bell pepper, and garlic. Sautee in non-stick pan for 5 minutes. Mix all ingredients together and simmer on stovetop for 1 to 2 hours or in crockpot for 3 to 4 hours on high and then low setting. Makes 24 1/2 cup servings. Can simmer with Italian meatballs.
