Ingredients

    1 small onion chopped
    1 cup mushrooms chopped
    1/2 cup chopped green bell pepper
    1 cup pizza sauce
    1/2 cup vegetarian crumbles
    1 can Pillsbury Grands Homestyle RF Biscuits
    1&1/4 cup part skim mozzarella cheese
    Cooking Spray

Directions

1. Preheat oven to 350 F.
2. In a skillet, stir together the sauce and veggies and add any additional seasonings desired. Simmer for 5 minutes.
3. Add crumbles
4. Cut biscuits into 1/4s
5. Stir biscuits into the sauce mixture until all are covered in sauce.
6. Spoon mixture into a 9x13 baking dish coated with cooking spray.
7. Bake for 25 minutes
8. Sprinkle with cheese and bake an additional 10 minutes or until the biscuits are done.
9. Let stand 5 minutes before serving.

    This was amazing! I took a picture and blogged about it today. I used the pizza sauce recipe from Selahterry for the sauce and added an extra 1/2 cup (we are sauce people). Very filling, not spicey, lots of hidden veggies..... a delight! Thank you so much for posting it! - 1/1/10

    Veggie crumbles are a soy hamburger alternative. You can find them in the frozen foods section. They are a great low-fat, high protein food! - 4/23/07

    I LOVE this recipe! I have my nephews help me make this and we just pull apart the biscuits into quarters and pour sauce over the top and add toppings. It's really easy (for me anyway) to not get the middle of the buscuits done.. I have to check and recheck them. Just a hint :) - 12/30/12
