G’ Veggie Burger

1 cup black beans, drained and rinsed2 cups cooked lentils, drained and rinsed1/4 medium red onion, diced1 tsp grated fresh ginger3 garlic cloves, minced2 tbsp ground flaxseed1 tsp smoked paprika1/2 tsp cumin2 tbsp minced fresh basil3 tbsp whole wheat bread crumbs
Mash beans and lentils with a fork until coarsely blended.
Add onion, ginger, garlic, flaxseed, spices, basil and 1 tbsp breadcrumbs. Mix well and divide into 4 even pieces.
Coat each side of each patty with a dusting of breadcrumbs.
Wrap patties individually in plastic wrap, refrigerate 4-6 hours or overnight.
Preheat oven to 450F, lightly grease a baking sheet with spray oil.
Bake patties 8-10 minutes per side, until crusty and hot throughout.
