Tamale Pie

Ingredients
meat mix:2 cans red beans1 onion10 tbsp chunky salsa8 oz. ground chuck5 oz. chorizo1 tsp. taco seasoningcornbread topping:1 cup self-rising flour1 cup yellow corn meal1 can mexicorn1/3 cup shredded cheddar1 eggwater3-5 chopped jalapeno peppers (optional)
Directions
Heat oven to 425 degrees.

Brown the ground beef and chorizo. Add in the other ingredients for the meat mix and simmer for a few minutes. Pour into bottom of a 13X9 casserole dish.

Mix all cornbread ingredients and add enough water that it makes it thick, like brownie batter. Pour over top of meat mixture.

Bake 20 minutes. Broil 3-5 minutes to brown top.
