I usually do not comment on recipes, but oh my, this is delicious! And SO good over oatmeal for breakfast, or just as a low-calorie dessert when craving PIE!! Thank you, thank you, for posting this!! I have really enjoyed! - 8/11/09

I made this yesterday, half a batch, and it was incredible! DH put his on ice cream, I put ice cream on mine. You don't use so much ice cream that way. : ) I'd make this again. Thanks! - 1/19/11

OMG, this is sooooo good, but is does make way to much, I should have made only half of it, but it is excellent over oatmeal with a dollop of whip cream on top. MMMM GOOD! - 8/31/09

I cut this recipe in half and used canned strawberries in place of pears and apple pie filling instead of cherry. I cooked on low for 4 hours to meld the flavors. Heavenly over vanilla ice cream! - 1/23/14

Had a lot of great reviews but found it very bland and lackluster - the addition of another 1/2 cup of sugar and 1/4 cup Myers rum picked up the flavor made it much better - lemon juice in lieu of Myers rum would work also. Pulled the lid off too toward the end as it had too much liquid. - 10/26/13

Loved it. I used splenda brown sugar and no butter to reduce the fat. Could use any lite fruit as well. - 2/3/11

I cut the recipe in half because I only had 1 can of pie filling. Didn't have pears or peaches so I used fruit cocktail. It was delicious! We had it on top of homemade vanilla frozen yogurt. - 3/8/09

This makes an entire crockpot full - I suggest cutting it in half unless you have a very hungry, very large crew. I added a scoop of vanilla frozen yogurt to my serving, loved it.Large servings too! - 3/3/09
