Chocolate Chip Scones

Ingredients
3 cups all purpose flour2 tablespoons baking powder1/4 cup sugar plus extra teaspoon for sprinkling the tops1/4 teaspoon salt1/3 cup vegetable oil1/2 cup half and half3/4 cup 2% milkfor choc chip recipe, add 1 cup chips & extra 2 Tbsp sugar to dry ingredients, and a tsp of vanilla extract to wet ingredients.
Directions
Made 13 1/4 cup scones

Preheat oven to 400. Lightly grease a cookie sheet.

In large mixing bowl, sift together flour, baking powder, sugar and salt. Add the oil, soy cream, and rice milk. Mix until just combined, dough should be clumpy and not sticky. Even if there is a light dusting of flour that's ok.

Drop by 1/4 cupfuls onto greased cookie sheet and pat the tops a bit to round them out, sprinkle with sugar.

Bake 12-15 minutes, until slightly browned on bottom and firm on top.
