Oatmeal Molasses Bread (bread machine)

Ingredients

1 1/4 cup water2 Tbsp powdered milk1 1/4 tsp. salt2 Tbsp molasses2 Tbsp butter flavored shortening3 cups enriched white flour1/2 cup old fashioned rolled oats2 tsp bread machine yeast
1. Place all ingredients into bread machine in the order listed. Program bread machine to "dough" setting and start.
2. When timer sounds, take dough from machine and punch down and place into a greased bowl. Set in a warm place and allow to rise (it should double in size) for 30 minutes.
3. Remove dough from greased bowl, punch down once more and form a loaf. Place into greased bread pan and allow to rise for 20 minutes longer in warm place.
4. Bake in a 350 (F) for 30 minutes. Bread is done when the top is browned and the bread has hollow sound when lightly thumped on top.
5. Remove from the oven and butter the top of the loaf while still hot with 1 Tbsp butter, remove from pan and allow to cool fully before storing (if you can keep from eating it while it's still warm) in a gallon size ziploc bag.
