Chicken Shawarma

Chicken "marinade"2 TBS lemon juice1 tsp curry powder1/2 tsp olive oil1/2 tsp ground cumin3 garlic cloves, minced1 lb skinless, boneless, chicken breast cut into 16 3 inch strips Sauce:1/2 cup plain reduced fat yogurt2 TBS tahini2 2 tsp lemon juice1/4 tsp salt (IF DESIRED, NOT FIGURED INTO THE NUTRITION INFORMATION BECAUSE I DO NOT USE SALT)1 garlic clove, minced4-6 inch pitas opened out1 cup chopped romaine lettuce8 1/4 inch thick tomato slices.onion slices if desired.Kebab skewers
Preheat grill to medium high heat
Mix chicken with first 5 ingredients in a medium bowl, toss well to coat.
Let stand at room temp 20 minutes.
To prepare sauce, combine yogurt, tahini, lemon juice, garlic and salt (IF DESIRED), stirring with a whisk
Kebab style:
Place 2 chicken strips on each of 8 skewers, place kebabs on a grill rach coated with cooking spray; grill 4 minutes on each side or until done.
Stove method:
Spray nonstick skillet with cooking spray, heat over medium heat. Add chicken pieces and saute or stir fry style until done.
Carefully open up pita so you have 2 halves. Top each with 1/4 cup lettuce, 2 tomato slices, then 4 chicken pieces. Add sliced onion if desired. Drizzle with prepared sauce and hot sauce if desired.
Carefully fold other 1/2 pita over mixture and roll up "burrito" style.
Serving Size: Makes 4-5 pita roll ups
