Spicy Lentils and Tomatoes

Ingredients
1 Tbs Canola Oil1 small white onion, minced1 can diced tomatoes1 garlic clove, grated2 inch piece of fresh ginger root, peeled and grated1 Tbs ground cumin2 tsp curry powder2 tsp ground coriander1 tsp ground turmeric1/2 tsp ground cloves1/2 tsp cinnamon1 cup uncooked lentils, rinsed1 1/2 cups vegetable broth
Directions
In large skillet, heat oil. Saute onion, tomatoes, garlic, ginger, cumin, curry powder, coriander, turmeric, cloves and cinnamon over medium heat, until onion is translucent (7 minutes). Add lentils and stir well to coat with spices. Add vegetable broth, bring to a boil, cover, reduce heat to low. Steam for 30 minutes.
