B's clean choc. chip oatmeal cookies

Ingredients
1/2 cup unsweetened apple sauce 1/2 cup lowfat buttermilk1/2 cup sucanat1 egg white1/2 tsp pure vanilla3 Tbsp water2 cups old fashioned oats2/3 cup whole wheat pastry flour1/4 tsp salt1/2 tsp baking soda4 tbs dark choc chips1 tbp cinnamon3 tbs waterpinch cayenneNOTE (re: subbing maple syrup for Sucanat):1 liquid oz syrup equals 2 Tbs (1/4 cup=2 oz; 3 oz = 6 Tbs)6 Tbs maple syruP=300 calories (1/2 CUP Sucanat is 285)
Directions
Preheat oven to 350 degrees.

In a bowl, mix apple sauce and evaporated cane/sucanat. Add egg white, vanilla, buttermilk, and water; mix well. In seperate bowl, mix oats, flour, salt, baking soda, & cinnamon; mix wet and dry and add choc chips, (don't overmix, retain the texture of oats). Drop by spoonfuls onto baking sheet and press down lightly. Bake for 10-15 minutes, or until bottoms are lightly browned.
