Spicy Southwestern Black bean Soup

1 1/2 tsp. olive oil2 cups onion, chopped1 4 oz. can chopped green chiles2 cloves garlic, minced2 15 cans black beans with liquid2 tsp. Chili powder1 tsp. ground cumin1 tsp. fresh lemon juice1 28 oz. can diced tomatoes, undrained1 cup water, as needed to thin down soup1/4 cup chopped fresh cilantro
In a large soup pot or Dutch oven, heat oil. Add onion and cook, stirring, over medium-high heat until onion is transparent, about 3 minutes. Add chilies and garlic,; cook, stirring, 2 more minutes.
Add all remaining ingredients except cilantro. Stir and simmer about 10 minutes. Stir in cilantro just before serving.
