Ingredients
2 cups self-rising flour1/2 cup sugar1/2 cup brown sugar1 tsp. baking powder1 tsp. cinnamon1/4 tsp. nutmeg1 1/2 cup chopped or shredded apples1 egg3/4 cup milk (skim)1/4 cup applesauce (instead of oil)chopped nuts as desired (recipe computed with 1/4 cup chopped walnuts)
Directions
Combine dry ingredients in a large bowl, and then add the egg, milk, and applesauce. Stir the ingredients until well blended. Spoon batter into greased muffin pans, filing until 3/4 full. Bake at 400 degrees for 15-18 minutes, or until golden brown.
