1 packet yeast1 cupButter, unsalted,4 Egg Yolks,1 cup lukewarm Milk, 1/2 tsp Salt1 T Granulated Sugar4 cup Flour, white,FILLING:4 egg white1 cup Granulated Sugar1 tsp Vanilla Extract2.5 cup Walnuts, chopped
Dissolve yeast in 1/4 cup milk. Mix melted butter, egg yolks, remaining milk, salt and sugar. Add yeast mixture and flour. Mix well. Divide into 4 parts and rest in refridgerator overnight or 4-5 hours.
When you are ready to bake, beat egg whites stiff. Gradually add sugar and vanilla. Roll out each dough to about pie crust thickness. Spread egg mixture on dough. Cover evenly with ground nuts. Roll like jelly roll. Bake at 350 degree oven for 30 min. Makes 4 loaves of about 15 slices each.
