Peanut Butter Granola Bars/Rice Krispies
- Minutes to Cook:
- Number of Servings: 8
Ingredients
Directions
1 Cup Puffed Rice Cereal1 Cup Instant Oats, dry2 Packets Splenda or Truvia(I used Splenda)4 Tablespoons light butter or alternative(Brummel and Brown Original Spread made with yogurt is used for the nutritional values)4 Tablespoons Chunky Peanut Butter(Smart Balance Chunky is used)1/2 Cup Mini Marshmallows
Measure out the cereals and splenda into one dish and mix it.
Measure out the butter, peanut butter, and the marshmallows in 3 different dishes.
(doing this makes everything go super smooth and fail-proof, please, DO NOT BURN THE PEANUT BUTTER)
I sprayed an 8x8 inch pyrex pan with butter flavored cooking spray and set it aside.
In a small pot, melt the butter over low-medium heat. Once fully melted, add the mashmallows. When the marshmallows are mixed in well, add the peanut butter and incorporate it fully before adding the dry ingredients.
Turn off the heat and mix in until it looks uniform. It will look dry, that's alright. DON'T PANIC.
Pour the mixture into the pan and press it down with the back of a spoon, without crushing the rice. Cover this and refridgerate for a few hours.
Cut into 8 bars.
Serving Size: Makes 8: 4x2" bars
Number of Servings: 8
