Ingredients
6 cups of cubed turnip drain and mash 2 Tbs butter2 egg-beatenCOMBINE3 Tbs flour1 Tbs brown sugar1 tsp baking powder3/4 tsp salt1/8 tsp pepperpinch of nutmeg
Directions
Add turnip mixture stirring in well
Combine
1/2 c fine dry bread crumbs
2 Tbs melted butter sprinkle over vegetable
BAKE until brown on top

350 for 20 minutes

    Very tasty way to prepare turnips. Creamy texture, similar to an au gratin recipe, w/o the cheese. Note that the calorie info is incorrect -- it appears to include only the turnips, not the butter, egg, flour, or bread crumbs. Actual count is over twice the listed calories, and a lot more fat. - 12/8/09

    My family enjoyed this. I found it a little sweet so would decrease the sugar by half and see how it tastes. Was very good leftover cold. We made this with orange chicken SP recipe and they went well together. - 1/24/09
