Brown Rice Flour Waffles

Ingredients
2 1/2 c brown rice flour1 tsp baking powder1/2 tsp baking soda1 tsp salt2 cup whole milk or buttermilk2/3 c oil (veg or coconut)2 eggs1 Tbsp sugar or sugar substitute (opt.)1/2 tsp vanilla
Directions
Combine all dry ingredients. Add all remaining ingredients and let the batter sit for 30 minutes. Cook in a waffle maker.

    These were amazing right off the grill. With maple syrup & berries.
    A few changes: as I only had 2 c Br rice flour I added 1/2 c white rice flour & used 21/2 c almond milk to make it dairy free. I used 1 tsp maple flavouring instead of vanilla and added a few chopped pecans while cooking. Yummy! - 2/12/19

    Not bad....I didn't wait the full 30 minutes, but after 20 or so started cooking. Texture ok though heavier than flour. Vanilla taste was stronger than I like, but I had real vanilla and might have put a little too much in. - 9/28/14

    I was skeptical when making these as it was my first foray into gluten-free cooking. At first they smelled funny because of buttermilk, but after sitting the required 30 min... OMG they were awesome! My boys-3 and 5- loved them and my husband said they were tasty( high praise as he's no waffle guy) - 10/30/12
