4 large apples, peeled, cored and cut in quarters1/4 cup lemon juice1/4 cup water1 tsp vanilla extract1/2 tsp ground cinnamon (I use 1/2 heaping teaspoon)3-4 tsp brown sugar - unpacked
Use a 4 quart slow cooker. Place the apple pieces into the stoneware. Add the lemon juice, water, vanilla extract, cinnamon and brown sugar. Cover and cook on low for 4 to 6 hours. When the apples are very tender, mash them with a potato masher or large fork.
