Beef and Lentils Garam Masala

1 lb lean ground beef1 cup chopped onions2 cups diced carrots3 cloves garlic - minced1 cup red lentils28 oz canned tomatoes (diced)1 tbsp cumin seed1 tbsp garam masala1 tsp vegeta1 cup water
Brown beef in a wok
Add onion, carrots and garlic and continue cooking until soft
Stir in lentils and spices and continue cooking and stirring for two or three minutes
Stir in tomatoes and water and simmer for 90 minutes or until lentils are soft
Serving Size: Makes 8 moderate or 6 large servings
