Multigrain Chicken Soup

Ingredients
3/4 c raw brown rice1/2/ cup medium barley1/2 cup red lentils1/2 cup yellow split peas2 T dried parsley1 T dried thyme1t ground ginger1 t dried marjoram1/2 t ground black pepper
Directions
Layer spices and dry ingredients in a pint canning jar.
When ready to make, add the contents of the jar with all other ingredients in a pot. Bring to a boil, cover and simmer for 1 hour until all grains are tender. Check seasonings, thin with water or stock as required.
