I re entered all the ingredients but WITHOUT THE BUN (8servings)

You can save a lot if you are careful with what BBQ sauce & bun you choose. Remember no bun is on these stats.
Happy munching, I can't wait to make this - 7/25/09

I thought this was good and different. My daughter did not like it, I think because it was not so sweet. I measured serving sizes and about 2/3 cup is a serving size. Thought this would be helpful info. - 8/30/07

I despise ground turkey, but this was a good way to use up the lb I had in my freezer. I served it over toasted whole grain bread, with a shot of hot sauce, and I didn't even know it was gr. turkey!!! - 2/26/09

I used no salt tomato sauce and tomatoes to reduce the sodium and used whole grain buns and it was PERFECT! A new fast fix family favourite. - 2/26/09

This was really good. We had a friend over for dinner, and I replaced the turkey with Quorn crumbles. He never knew the difference! Made mini sloppy joes and served baked sweet potato "fries" yum! - 5/5/08

I used frozen onion/pepper blend and drained my turkey after browning. I also served over toasted light whole grain bread to save on calories. Very good and will make again. - 9/7/08

Have not tried this yet, but will. Wanted to comment on the person who said they hated ground turkey. The brand has lots to do with whether you like it or not. Try another brand. Also, if you still can't find one you like, try mixing 1/2 pound of ground turkey with 1/2 pound ground beef. - 10/25/09

This was ok but it needed more flavors. Next time I will add garlic and italian seasonings. I also left out the peppers and mushrooms as we don't care for them much. But we'll probably be making this again. - 10/4/09

I made this recipe using extra lean ground turkey breast and low sodium canned tomatoes. I added some Mrs. Dash for some added flavor and used lower sodium salsa in place of the barbeque sauce. I served it on the whole wheat slimwich buns and enjoyed them very much. I will definitely make again. - 8/12/09

HOW MUCH IS A SERVING?? 1 CUP, 1/2 CUP, WHAT?? I don't like how these recipes never specify serving SIZE. - 7/29/09

This was very good. My whole family enjoyed it. I will definitely make it again. The only change I made was to use fresh mushrooms instead of canned. - 2/29/08

Loved this; it was so easy to make and the ingredients were all things I always have on hand...except buns. I just toasted whole wheat bread and made open-faced sandwiches. My whole family at it. - 8/30/07

I thought this was easy & filling! I loved that there were carrots in this, not something I would have added but it really boosts the nutritional value. Great choice & easy to reheat for a quick meal later. - 3/14/07

Yummy, easy and veggie-packed. I replaced the green pepper with red, and left out the mushrooms. - 8/19/08

This was very quick and good for a football or race day meal. Also had a serving of Flat Earth chips and baby vegetable medley. Tasty! - 9/22/08

my family loves sloppy joes, and the added zip of BBQ makes this recipe really yummy!!! - 2/26/08

I probably won't make this again. Hubby and I both thought it was very boring. If I do make it again I'll throw in a LOT of spices, just not sure what. Maybe some onion powder, ground mustard, Worcestershire sauce. I'd probably use ketchup instead of BBQ sauce! - 7/29/09

Very good and very filling. I just wonder why the Turkey Joes recipe has 259 calories per serving and this one has 429 calories when the recipes are very similar. I will probably stick to the other recipe if the calorie counts are correct because of this. - 1/13/08

I made a few tweeks because of stock on hand. I used mild salsa, snuck in some pureed spinach and omitted the mushrooms because I can't sneak them past my oldest son. My whole family loved it. Even the hardest to please, My husband and youngest son. - 3/25/08

Hubby and I really enjoyed this recipe. We don't care for mushrooms, so we left those out and added more bell pepers. Yummy! We now call this recipe "BBQ Sloppy Joes" :) - 4/12/09

A nice version, just for variety. I, too, liked the carrot addition. - 2/26/08
  • GOINATIT
very good. Calorie count could be higher then others because of the bun that was used. - 2/26/08
