Ingredients
Directions
Two cans of beef broth, two bottles of beer, two packages of onion soup mix, and a rump roast (I used a 4 pounder). Optional ingredients included in nutrition info: Whole wheat buns and provolone cheese slices.
First thing in the morning, take all of the ingredients and place them in the slow cooker on LOW heat. Meal is ready 8-10 hours later. Slice the beef very thin to eat, place on a whole wheat bun, add provolone cheese and use the crockpot juice for dipping. If you want something healthier you can cut back on portion sizes or you can substitute non-fat broths, lite beers, or reduce the amount of au jus you eat with it, etc. But as is, this is a very hearty, filling recipe when you don't want to spend a lot of time in the kitchen but have hungry people to feed!
