Chocolate Waffle

3/4 cup all purpose flour3/4 cup wheat flour3 tablespoons splenda1/2 cocoa powder1 tsp baking powder1/2 tsp salt1/2 tsp baking soda3/4 cup egg substitute1/4 cup light margarine, melted1 tsp vanilla extract2 cups skim milk with 2 tbsp vinegar(can use buttermilk but adjust calories)1/2 cup mini chocolate chips
Preheat waffle iron accoding to manufacturer's directions.
In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, cocoa powder, baking powder, salt and baking soda.
In another bowl, beat together the eggs, melted margarine and vanilla, and then add the milk.
Add the wet ingrediets to the dry and stir in the chocolate chips just until combined.
Let rest 5 minutes.
Label the recommeded amout of waffle batter onto the center of the iron.
Close the iron top and cook until the waffle is crisp on both sides and is easily removed from the iron.
Serve immediately or keep warm in a 200 degree oven until ready to serve.
makes 16 4 inch waffles (I have a square waffle maker.)
