Homemade spaghetti sauce

Ingredients
1 lb. ground beef, browned & drained2 cans tomato past3 cups water2 tbsp olive oil1 medium white or yellow onion, chopped1 cup mushrooms, sliced6 cloves garlic, minced1 tsp salt1 tsp white pepper1 tbsp oregano1 tbsp basil
Directions
In large sauce pan, heat olive oil. Add onion and garlic. Brown until onion is soft. Add tomato paste and water. Stir thouroughly. Add oregano, basil, salt and pepper. Bring to boil. Add browned ground beef, reduce heat to simmer and cover with splatter guard. Simmer at least 2 hours, or up to 4 hours (the longer, the better). Add mushrooms 30 minutes before removing from heat. Serves 10.
