Oatmeal Carob Chip Pancakes with Carob Syrup

Ingredients
for pancakes:1/4 cup rolled oats1/4 cup white whole wheat flour (or whole wheat pastry)3/4 tsp baking powderdash saltpinch baking sodadash of cinnamondash of truvia/stevia1 tbsp vanilla whey protein powder i.e. jay robb2 tbsp liquid egg whites2 tbsp unsweetened carob chips1/3 cup unsweetened almond milkfor syrup:1 tbsp sugar-free maple syrup (I use Walden Farms)1 tbsp all-natural carob powder1 1/2 tbsp water
Directions
In a medium-sized bowl whisk together oats, flour, baking powder, baking soda, salt, protein powder, cinnamon and sweetener. Then whisk in egg whites, milk, and fold in carob chips.
Preheat small griddle to medium heat and cook pancakes, 1/4 cup batter each, one at a time, flipping after 1-2 minutes when bubbly and edges are firm. Continue cooking until both sides are lightly browned.

To make syrup, whisk together maple syrup, carob powder and water until all clumps are gone. Serve drizzled over pancakes.
