1 cup uncooked rice1 cup uncooked brown lentils (don't use red!)1/2 medium yellow or white onion chopped2 tsp cumin2 pinches cinnamon1/2 tsp salt3 1/2 cups water1 tablespoon olive oil
cook chopped up onion until brown in olive oil. Add lentils and 3 1/2 cups water and salt. bring to a boil. Once this starts boiling turn heat to low, cover and simmer for 20 minutes. After 20 minutes add rice, cumin, cinnamon and simmer for another 20 minutes until all water is absorbed.
