1 box manicotti shells15 oz part-skim manicotti1 large bag 6 cheese italian blend, shredded - reserve 1 cup1 large can tomato sauce1 small can tomato paste1 jar cheese blend spaghetti sauce2 cloves garlic3 Tbl fresh basil, finely chopped1/2 cup fresh parsley, finely chopped1 tsp fresh thyme, chopped1 tsp fresh savory, chopped1 tsp ground nutmegsalt and pepper to taste1 large raw egg
1. Mix cheeses, egg, herbs and spices together until smooth.
2. Mix tomato sauce, paste and spaghetti sauce together until smooth and blended.
3. Spray 13x9x2 pan with Pam.
4. Put a good layer of sauce on the bottom of the pan.
5. Stuff cheese filling into uncooked manicotti tubes.
6. Lay filled tubes onto sauce.
7. Cover tubes generously with sauce.
8. Cover tightly with foil.
9. Bake in a preheated 350 degree oven for 35-45 minutes.
10. During last 10 minutes, take off foil cover add remaining shredded cheese and finish baking uncovered until bubbling and lightly golden.
Serving Size: Makes 9 2 tube servings (18 tubes total)
