Butter 250gSoft Brown Sugar 250g45g molasses/golden syrup375g Self Raising Flour
Use a mixer to blend together the room temp butter, sugar & molasses together. Then add flour. Mix all together into a soft pastry. Roll into 40g balls. Space out on a baking tray - do not squash down. Bake for 18 mins at 160c.
After removing from the oven, whilst still hot, chocolate chips/smarties, etc can be pushed into the dough. Leave to set.
