Stovetop French onion dips

Ingredients
1tbsp butter2t minced garlic1t thyme1t pepper1 onion2lbs chuck tender roast10oz can french onion soup1 1/2 c chicken broth1/3 c white wine1 loaf french bread4 slices provolone cheese
Directions
In large skillet melt butter over med. heat. Add garlic, thyme, pepper, onion, and roast. Cook until meat is browned. Add soup, broth, and wine. Bring to a boil, cover, reduce heat, and simmer 1hour or until tender. Layer roast on bread and top with cheese. Wrap in foil and bake 15 min at 400. Cut into slices and serve with aj jus.
