Julia's Bread Pudding with Hot Butter Rum Sauce

Ingredients
Bread Pudding Ingredients1/2 to 2/3 loaf white bread (crusts trimmed)1 egg1 cup of milk2/3 cup of sugar1/2 cup of raisins1 1/2 tsp vanilla extractRum Sauce Ingredients1 cup granulated sugar1/2 cup water1/2 cup butter, unsalted1 tsp vanilla extract1/2 tsp rum extract
Directions
Bread Pudding Recipe
Mix thoroughly, breaking down the fiber of the bread. Bake in a greased bread pan at 350 degrees for 30 minutes.

Rum Sauce Recipe
Add water and sugar to sauce pan and cook over medium-high heat, stirring occasionally and bring to a boil until sugar is dissolved. Add butter and extracts and stir until mixed well. Allow to simmer 1 minute.

Serve in separate bowl from bread pudding, allowing diners to spoon on as much or as little as they desire.
